Your privacy is of paramount importance. RheumCompanion is built with a privacy-first design philosophy. This Privacy Policy details how data is handled within the RheumCompanion mobile application (the "App") and the website.

1. No Personal Data Collection

RheumCompanion does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) or protected health information (PHI).

• No registration or account creation is required to use the App.
• We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or device locations.
• We do not use any third-party analytics trackers, cookies, or marketing SDKs.

2. Local Data Storage

All data you log within the App—including symptom logs, pain/stiffness scores, flare notes, and medication list entries—is stored strictly locally on your own device (using encrypted local database storage).

• This data never leaves your device unless you choose to manually export a report to share with your physician.
• You can delete all locally stored data at any time by clearing the App's data in your device settings or uninstalling the App.

3. Third-Party APIs and Network Calls

To provide educational information, the App makes direct secure network connections (HTTPS) to public APIs. No personal data is transmitted in these queries:

• Google Gemini API (via Proxy): Used for AI Q&A queries and drug interaction checks. The queries contain only the medical keywords or questions you type. No account identifiers, personal identifiers, or patient details are included in these requests.
• OpenFDA API: Used to lookup official drug package inserts. Only the drug name is sent.
• ClinicalTrials.gov & PubMed APIs: Used to search clinical studies and research papers. Only the search terms are sent.

4. Children's Privacy

Since we collect no personal data, we do not knowingly collect or maintain information from individuals under the age of 18.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
